Here are some of the products I used this month: BEAUTY How did September get here so fast? It came and went. Overall, it was still a bit warm here in the Boston area but because of autumn marching in, I started incorporating some of my new products. SKIN I still love Cetaphil Healthy Radiance Cleanser but I started using Fresh Soy Cleanser again. The cucumber scent gets me every time. The scent is so light and the cleanser, itself, is so mild but still does the job. I think it works for most everyone.

For day and night skin and sunscreen, same old same old. I'm waiting for cooler weather to start incorporating my new stuff. MAKEUP For the day, I mostly continued using Tower 28 Tinted Moisturizer in Mulholland Drive. I was quite surprised by this product. It isn't just a sunscreen with a tint; rather a tint with a great sunscreen.

I added in a new foundation, Shiseido RevitalEssence Skin Glow Foundation SPF 30 foundation in shade 260 Cashmere. So light, buildable, and made me look like me with beautiful skin. It takes a lot for me to love a foundation. As mentioned in another post, I'm applying products with my hands again and this foundation goes on like a dream. I'm very impressed with this foundation. It's the type of consistency I prefer plus I'm into spot concealing lately, nothing heavy. I want to see my skin. I continued using Merit Bronze Balm Sheer Sculpting Bronzer in Seine and Kjaer Weis cream blush in Sun Touched. I'm finding I reach for a peach-y blush more than pink; in fact, I'm not liking a pink cheek lately. I think peaches and corals just look more natural. I read somewhere that French women tend to not wear a pink blush but more often than not use a warmer shade. Peachy, bronze-y checks just remind me of Jennifer Aniston in the early 2000s. Another blush I continue to love is Merit Flush Balm in Beverly Hills. Merit just does great cheek products; all cream, which is good for me. Cream products just look more natural. Powders can make one who isn't so young look older or just dry, depending on the finish. Plus, if it's humid, powders tend to travel on the face. For eyes, I incorporated Merit Solo Shadow in Studio, and continued to wear my favorite cream shadows, Bobbi Brown's Nude Beach and IT Cosmetics in Bare & Brave. They're just great natural shades. And none seem to need a shadow "backup" to make them last. They're just so easy.

Oh, and Benefit Hoola is definitely back in the lineup, both as a bronzer and a shadow.

One product you'll rarely find me using is eye liner/pencil. I have them, I keep buying them, but just don't wear them much. I like stamping mascara to my lash line for emphasis. That's about it. For concealer, I still love Natasha Denona Concealer. I use it just about every day, alone or with foundation. It just has a great consistency that doesn't move, crease, or dry out. There are a lot of new concealers out there right now, and I still use others I have, but this is a definite keeper. I rotated with Huda Beauty FauxFilter Luminous Matte Buildable Coverage Crease Proof Concealer. It's great for when you need a bit more coverage. And, as full as it is, it's quite natural when spot-concealing.

Mascara is usually an afterthought. I like clean; I like drugstore; I like high-end. But, not usually cheap, cheap. This month, I continued wearing Maybelline Sky High Tinted Primer and added in Lancome Lash Idôle, my chosen high-end mascara. For lips, I was all over the place, not sticking to anything in particular. I won't list all of them here but a the one gloss I can't stop wearing is Tower 28 ShineOn Lip Jelly Non-Sticky Gloss in Pistachio. Man, this is good. Really good. Good enough to have one in every handbag, good. (I don't but I would if I thought about it.) It's hard to describe but it makes my lips look like those perfect baby pink lips some people are born with. It doesn't look like I'm wearing a product on my lips, that's how beautiful it makes my lips look. For this alone, I'm sold.

I started wearing Huda Beauty Power Bullet Cream Glow Hydrating Lipstick in Baby Face and Angel. I just love a good MLBB-type shade. Funny, years ago I lived for the berries and reds. Now, if I apply a darker shade, I take it right off. It doesn't feel like me. Call it maturity or the JLo effect, I'm hooked on a more natural lip. It took a long time for me to try Huda lipsticks and these are quite good. FRAGRANCE Nothing too exciting in the scent department. I'm still trying out sandalwood scents (Maison Louis No. 04 Bois de Balincourt and Santa 33 (sample)) but I'm really waiting for cooler months to wear my heavier scents. I can't say enough good things about Thin Wild Mercury's Whisky 1969. I wore it a bunch of days this month, even on the hotter days. It doesn't turn icky when it's humid; and it's a somewhat heavy scent. It's the only scent I've ever gotten compliments on. It's dark, and delicious, and booze-y. I also heard they're introducing a few new scents (New York Collection), which I cannot wait to try. NAILS Work was a total fright with releases and publishes. OPI Nail Envy was the only polish I could wear. Lots of writing, lots of typing. Let's get this autumn started.
