My Monthly Edit has been on a long hiatus (mostly because of my work schedule). But, I'm back and here are the Edit for this past month.
SKIN
I finally have the products I love and stick to them morning and night. (To the Skincare Gods: Please. Do not reformulate or discontinue any of these products.)
Every morning, I cleanse with Cetaphil. In the evening, I've been using Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash. It gets rid of dead skin cells and texture as well as protects the moisture barrier with white truffle and babassu oil to keep the skin super-moist. These products are on the regular.
On to toners. In the morning, I use First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads. I started using these pads on my clients at Sephora. Even if they were going to an important event (even marriage), these pads would never irritate or cause redness or a reaction of any kind. In fact, it perfectly preps the skin to apply products over top. I use these pads every single day. In the evening, I rotate Pixi Glow Tonic with a random vitamin C toner. What I love about the Glow Tonic is that it's a glycolic acid-based, which is great when my skin is erupting or if I want to stop a breakout. It cleans out pores pronto.
Best mask for clogged pores: Caudalie Vinoperfect Glycolic Peel Mask.
One new product I've thrown in is Iris & Romeo The Reset Hyaluronic Acid & Niacinamide Serum Spray. (What's with these long titles?) First, I bought one large bottle during Sephora's yearly holiday event, and then I quickly purchased another one and a travel size. So good. Moisturizing and plumping; perfect for cold, winter days. Five or six sprays, morning and night after my toner and before Vibriance Super C Serum.
Then, I'm still using and loving Oak Essentials Hydration Heroes. These products just work for me. I've even subscribed to receive the oil and balm every few months.
Because of the combination of products has been magical, I can actually leave the house wearing the Oak Essentials oil and balm with a just bit of concealer and mascara (along with sunscreen always) and not scare people.
Sunscreen? Sephora Collection Daily Mineral Sunscreen Cream SPF 30. The best. I've been wearing this every day for months.
BEAUTY
I've gotten into that no-makeup makeup thing. But, when I do wear products, I'm continuing to use Laura Mercier Real Flawless Serum Concealer (in 1N1), a bit of powder, Makeup by Mario SoftSculpt Transforming Skin Enhancer (in Light Medium), Rhode Pocket Blush (in Freckle), and then a bit of bronzer like Ilia Sunshift Weightless Silky Cream Bronzer (in Ray) and will always wear Benefit Hoola. With eyes, I usually use a shadow stick.
Two new products thrown in:
Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow (in shade 5 Medium). I only occasionally wear a full-on foundation; I mostly prefer a tint. But, I have to admit, I bought this because of Sienna Miller's YouTube makeup tutorial. But, it's a great product. It's sheer, goes on seamlessly, doesn't break me out (like the Flawless Filter!) and, best of all, it makes my skin look naturally glow-y. I still don't look like Sienna, though.
Tarte Tartelette XL Tubing Mascara. I starting wearing a tubing mascara when Kevyn Aucoin first introduced his line ages ago but I always forget how much I like it and how natural it looks. Molly Sims mentioned it on her Lipstick on the Rim year-end podcast, so of course I had to buy it.
Does this mean I'm easily convinced to buy products based on celebrity opinions?
For lips, I'm mostly rotating lip pencils (like NYX Nude Truffle and Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude) and wearing Laneige Lip Glowy (in Berry) and Ole Henriksen Pout Preserve Hydrating Peptide Lip Treatment (in Cocoa Crème and the LE Anine Bing shade in I ♥ Me).
If I had to wear a lipstick, I grabbed my Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Satin Shine Lipstick (in Icon Baby) a lot. She's finally introduced some c00l-toned lipsticks. She's got wayy too many warm-leaning lipstick shades (why is everything so warm lately?) and I just can't wear them. The only other shade of hers I can wear is Pillow Talk but that tends to be a bit drying.
FRAGRANCE
I was researching Diptyque L'Eau Papier for months and months and just never prchased it. But, right before Christmas, Nordstrom had one of their secret sales, so I finally picked it up. I alternated between this and Le Mond Gourmond's Fleur de Blonde Hair and Body (very light dupe of the original Glossier You).
Daylight Savings cannot come soon enough.
